  • Turn 91 - 600 BC

And with the resurrection of the 's, here comes the new turn.

First, UnO's playground. Our 4 axes are now on the forested hill. 3 of them can still move. 2 chariots are on the stone hill.

Heliopolis has 3 basic axemen, 1 spear and 1 warrior.
There's another basic PAL axeman somewhat to the southwest, next to the workers due south of our axe stack.

    Watership Down...

... is 2 turns from producing a wall. The workers have finished a road on the rice plot. That leaves only one leg of a road connection between Watership Down and Valley Hutch to finish.

There's a wounded axeman in WD now, 1 turn from healing completely.
I left the warrior on the hill for the time being. Normally the PAL warrior can't see in WD. Besides, PAL still has to move this turn so changes are they'll bump into that barb warrior the turn after and get damaged enough so we might get a lucky strike at the PAL warrior.

On the screenshot you can also see our new research: Agriculture, 8 turns with no deficit/turn.

      Valley Hutch...

... is 4 turns away from an axeman. So even if war breaks lose this turn we'll be able to finish a defense for the city before anything can conceively reach the city.

        Diggers Burrow...

... has finished our 3th chariot. I took it on a barb warrior south of the city at once, and we can promote the unit twice now. Choices for the first promo are either strength, or retreat. Also, the barb was quite tough, our chariot is down to .6 strength.

I put a new axe in the production queue here. Any other unit recommendations? Spear? Another Chariot? Also, the screenshot says 5 turns to finish the unit, but we can do it in 4 if I switch a citizen to a hill mine (at the cost of lower pop increase), or next turn if we whip it at the cost of 2 pops. Btw, the city still has 15 turns whip to go.

          Caerbannog...

... is still busy with the worker. 2 turns. What do we do thereafter? A settler for settling a profitable spot now we can build cottages?

            Caerbannog- Oracle
            DB-Chariot
Workers start building cottages on grassland at DB and Caerbannog
Workers finish road between WD and VH.

When we attack, first move the stack onto the elephant, destroy camp and road.
Next move to the cottages and villages to tear them up.
Yes, negotiations could take some time.

Oracle will take at least 15 turns IIRC. And we still don't have a marble source linked up...

                  15 turns? Choppy choppy...

Anyway, all our axes are Combat I?

What's the third chariot doing south of DB?

                  2 options I see:

Move our stack south, and hope to pillage that tile, cutting the ivory. We should win vs any standard axes.

In this plan, we would actually fort the 2 chariots and wait the third to join them, IF it can in a reasonable time.

Once the chariots are joined together, they would move 7-1, placing them in a position to attack the PAL town to the west the following turn. Chances are PAL has focused defense in the capitol and Heliopolis, which means the other town should be lightly defended. If that defender is not a spear, they will be forced to either whip one or likely lose the town. Either way, works for us.

The second option is the original. Join the chariots with the axes and proceed with pillaging. I do believe our path to pillage should be southward in that case, and I'ld still like the chariot in the western theater to respond to potential counter-attacks from PAL.

Okay, 2 in favor or the Oracle, and nobody against sofar. I'll put it preemptily in the queue. Not that I think something will come from it, except a little cash.

The chariot south of DB took out a barb warrior. Read the reports please.
We can now give this unit 2 promotions, and in 3 turns it can be on the stone hill with the 2 other chariots, but only partially healed (whatever healing 2 promotions will give the unit).

                      Make that 3.

I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

                        Fine, let me rephrase....

WHY are we pop-shotting warriors that can't bother us?

                          You got me there.

                          XP?
Okay, I won't do it again on my own initiative.

In that case, reserve the xp for the axes.

Btw, since we can promote that chariot twice, and since it is damaged and not immediately useful for battle, how about promoting it to the extra plotview promotion?
