My parent's house flooded, so I've been helping with that cleanup the last couple weeks. We've got it dry now, but we're going to have to remove all the furniture and carpet. Waiting to see if we gotta rip some wood out as well.
Oh, and it's never too early to start on that silly October business and all...

Good. I see it's working.
Invented that design so folks would see what they're most familiar with. Some see Alchemy, some see black magic, others see Voodoun/Santeria. It's a merging of all of the above, in all actuality.
And far better than a boring pentagram most around here would expect.Last edited by UnOrthOdOx; January 26, 2009, 12:15.One who has a surplus of the unorthodox shall attain surpassing victories. - Sun Pin

So, just to review:
Skulpt skull because standard human skulls are too small. Purposely make it more cro-magnon in design to fit the intended area.
Fire it, make a mold, cast that mold in plaster, drill some holes, and modify it to fit atop a torch and make it look like the torch is more a candle burning...
What I DIDN'T expect the INTERESTING side effect that the holes drilled to fit this on the torch created a chimney effect similar to that used by alcohol stoves, and produced FOOT TALL FLAMES!
I could probably fine-tune the design to maximise this effect...hmmm...
This is just a test, the real ones will be all nicely aged and more realistic looking as a result. One who has a surplus of the unorthodox shall attain surpassing victories. - Sun Pin

As we face what may well be the last times of our fellowship I thought I'd share with you all a story of another contest of quite a different type.
Our game may well break up as enterprises among humans often do so I thought this story related to real life might help give perspective.
My buddy Dutch was an Oregon deep forest firewatcher at one time in his life. These solitary guys live in fire watchtowers on hills far from civilization. Now the upper part of the tower is an open platform with a flying roof built for observation. The lower part is a room which contains the supplies brought out occasionally by the forest rangers. The two are connected by a stair that wraps the framework of the tower.
So to Dutch's consternation a bear broke in and swiped some of his supplies and tore up the place. In spite of his best daytime efforts at sealing up the room each time this repeatedly happened. A great black bear is a determined foe indeed and would break in again during the night. So Dutch labored a great rock up the stairs, heaving and pulling and pushing and dragging. A lone figure in the great Oregon forest engaged in a contest from which only one could emerge in victory, the great bear who ruled his kingdom with might and knew naught but that this odd building full of tasty surprises was set upon his territory, and the grizzled veteran fire watcher of the forest using his mind to defend his sustanance. Dutch was concerned that the rock would roll back upon him and leave him crushed and dieing alone where none could hear his cries but that villian, the bear. Once the rock was finally in position high over the door which the bear would repeatedly break open Dutch put a little effort into doing enough repairs to delay the bear where the bear needed to be for the moments required. The rock was then set to balance, the trap set. Night fell, the bear wandered up. This night Dutch watched both for fires and for his foe. Seeing the bear he waited unobserved until the bear was involved in the defenses of the door then, when the moment was upon him Dutch overbalanced the rock and sent it silently plunging from the height of the tower, quietly plunging through the night air.
The next day Dutch ate bear meat.
So, like Dutch, I will when all is said and done go to single player.Last edited by Lancer; February 22, 2009, 08:24.Long time member @ Apolyton
