  • Turn 86 - 725 BC

Let's start with Caerbannog, shall we?

Switched to a chariot, (2 votes against 1, Chuckman) and hit the whip button. Next turn its done.

Both workers will start on a road next turn. Nothing else they can do but chop a forest. And our slavebunnies have already done the hammer job.

    Diggers Burrow...

... is under a similar situation, but here there's still a left after the whipping. Nothing a garrison can't fix though. There's also an axeman with 1 turn to go in the queue.

      It ain't worth it...

... to whip in Valley Hutch. Two turns to go for the barracks, no unhappiness, small population and lots of forest around... And the workers will start on a sheep pasture next turn.

        Aachen...

... resembles a garrison city these days.

Okay, 3 axeman are in the vicinity, unvisible from PAL. There's one axeman visible to them (Smiter) in the forest between Valley Hutch and Aachen. All 4 axemen here can still move. Do we move them to the stone hill now (or another position) or do we wait a turn or two until the first chariot arrives?

Also, will our Master Harasser UnO speak up now and share with us his Masterplan for embarrissing PAL? I think there are enough pictures now to show us your spiel.

Additional info: the PAL worker down below still needs 3 turns to finish the elephant camp, and no road is there. Also, PAL has no horses AFAIK and doesn't have the technology to train war elephant.

              And lastly...

              ... the powerstats.

PAL is seriously whipping troops now.
We'll get equal to them with our chariots next turn, but Sid alone knows what they will do the turn after...

36 hours left on the counter for this turn, so time enough to comment and share assault ideas.

As our plan is to enter PAL territory before they enter ours - then I would agree with UnO that walls are not necessary.

But, as they have now obviously seen the writing on the wall, and appear to be whipping troops - we do need to consider that they will attack our cities.

One less than obvious reaction for PAL is for them to ignore our pillaging units and come a raze some/all of our cities.
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

It's just that one city. The rest can quickly whip backup units. That one not, and is isolated.

And you didn't tell us your plan in detail!

IMHO, wall is a mistake. We need a monument there to get the ivory
and its happiness, as we are at the happy cap. And please garrison
that cities; if no time to build garrisons, then at least bring back the
                      warrior to one needed city.
As I see 2,not just 1, cities can be under immediate threat, and 1 of
                      them is empty.
I see whip has been used, nothing wrong with, but then we need Agri
quickly for the 2 rices and more.
Our commerce is...nothing to write home, but I can see no fast way
                      to put it all right.
                      Best regards,

Fed, most of those "garrisons" are meant to harass PAL. IMO the wall is necessary to give a warrior, spearman or archer a better chance of defending.

Assemble the troops in that town there.

Once assembled, move 2-1-1, now in a position to reasonably threaten 3 PAL cities, it'll depend on what PAL does.

Ideally, we'ld move onto that forest hill and see what we can see.

Pillage the road connecting the PAL ivory city to the core would be a high priority.

If lightly defended, razing that city is an option.

Striking the city to the west is an option. Making for that stone hill is as well.

Yes, the proper PAL reaction SHOULD be to head at us. It's not less than obvious, it's just against human nature. I have yet to see a TEAM actually do that. Individuals, yes.

A plan of defense to the city there would be to have a road between it and the neighboring city, and units stationed in between the two so that they could move to either in 1 turn. ZONE defense, not POINT defense. Forting units in cities is a losing proposition.

Personally, I wouldn't have put the city there knowing we are planning an attack.

Walls are one thing when we have stone hooked up and they can be built in a turn or two, as is, even a walled warrior is pointless defense vs an axe. Better to abandon the city and defend with more troops elsewhere.

                          IMHO and all that.

Oh, and what's up with Banana?

Are they playing, talking? Having them send what they can at PAL's ass end oh, say 5ish turns after we start should do wonders.

't Is done. 2 axes in Aachen, and a third a plot from it. Next turn I can put 3 axes on the stone hill and advance further from there.

The fourth axe is one plot behind them then.

O yes, and two chariots will start going to the border as well next turn.

Banana has fallen in the Great Silence. Never got a response on Nugog's message. They're researching Writing at this moment. 2 turns before they finish it IIRC...
