  • Turn 75 - 1000BC

I know, another turn skipped. But there's really nothing interesting happening between interesting turns.

    This one saw some action.

Let's start with some general info.
We lost first place in production, probably because I shifted a citizen in Caerbannog to a food/commerce plot.

      Some general info...

Putting a Caerbannog citizen on a food/commerce plot gave and increasing the science slider to 80% gave us these results qua income and research. I reckoned with the barb city obliterated next turn we could afford to spent a bit extra on research.
O yes, the settler won't be delayed because of this.

PaL is really doing its best now: only 7 turns to Alphabet. Last turn it was 9 turns but then they were switching a bit I think. The turn before that it was 8 turns.
      revealed itself techwise: Archery.

        Caerbannog...

... is doing quite fine. 3 turns to the settler.
AFAIK, the general concencus is still we're sending him off to the west to found a city near the soon-to-be former barb city?

Doe's Toiler there on the bottom of the screen is honoring his roots: wood chopping done in 3 turns, in time for the next production.

            Diggers Burrow...

... is still in the military business. Spearman done next turn.

Also, there's a barb warrior spotted on the NW of town. I propose to sent our axeman after it next turn when the spearman is there to keep the local wabbits happy.
Both our workers there will start and finish a road next turn.

O yes, we need names for a spearman and an axeman.

                Killin' Fields...

                ... is honoring its name.

Our warrior on the hill defeated a barb warrior. There's enough XP available to promote it. Do we wait or do we promote?

Smiter defeated a barb warrior in Ainu without a scratch. We're pretty sure now we can take the city or raze it next turn if no new defender pops up. I'm in favour of razing the city, for the gold and perhaps a free worker.
                Anyone who disagrees?

                      Raze it.

Hold the promo for the warrior - use it when we actually need to IMO.

Garlic and Ginger for unit names.

I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

I say keep the city, there is no worker in it so raze will not give us anything, keeping it will give us a free city and our new settler can be used somewhere else.

IIRC, razing the city will convert it to a worker. But I could be wrong...

In any case I'd rather build a city on our own, the placement of the barb city is less than optimized...

Indeed - there are much better positions to better take advantage of the surrounding resources.
