          My thoughts :

          Caerbannog : As is.

          Thumper : As is.

          Dandelion : 7-7

          Buttercup : As is.

Dandelion should NOT go 7-->4 in any circumstance. Chances are the PAL warrior is right on that forest hill as we speak (they hadn't played yet when I moved our unit), and our scout will be visible from the position theViking proposes. 7-->7 is good, but only if we can move Dandelion again in before PAL moves its warrior in turn 25. On that hill we're clearly visible from 2 plots out.

I do suggest a quick pause by the turnplayer to check if the warrior indeed is on the forested hill after the first move. The hill is in our LOS at that moment.

                  Why avoid the warrior.

The death of a scout is perfect justification for removing their bowels.

To keep them a bit longer in the dark as from which direction we came.

Meh. Whatever. Not something I normally care about. Move what suits us uncovering fog best, IMO. The more we can scout their border now, the better off we are later.

I doubt there will be much question where we came from in any case. It's likely they have met whomever is on the other side.

I'm guessing the huge desert was the eliminated player (the map was built with too many start positions) and we're way off on our own. The other side of the map will be crowded enough that others already have contact. We need to get 4 (West) of PAL as soon as possible to get more contacts.
some day I'll put a catchy phrase here

I think that is a good analysis by DaveShack on possible PAL contacts. In my experience with PAL (Which seems to mirror Uno's), they will attempt to ally with the first Civ they meet. If they have already done that, then their pattern says that they will do one of two things...1.) Conduct a rush with their ally, or 2.) Offer a limited treaty. If it is the treaty, then the wording will reveal much about if they have other contacts and if what their true intentions are.

I recommend opening talks with them as soon as we decide what we want out of them.

I think we decided to leave his promotion until we were sure what promo he needed most.

e.g. when barb's arrive promote according to what type they are
