  • Should Rob and Geo be empowered as leaders?

I suggested it in the turn 18 thread and the idea was seconded by Zoid and got a from theViking.

This may help when turn time is short and stuff hasn't been done. These two are our prime movers at the moment so it might help them if they felt the rest of the rabbits are behind them in times of emergency.

We also need to know if these two think it's a good idea or not or if they, or anyone, has a better one.

I'm including a poll but mostly this should be a discussion thread. Thoughts? How far reaching should these powers be? Lets have this poll be basic and if there is much discussion and many ideas lets have another or more to iron out the details. This also assumes a positive vote in this basic, 'Is this a good general idea' poll.

Please don't forget our official team philosophy!!!

Welcome to The Rabbits of Caerbannog Sign-Up Thread

We are a team of equal opportunities. We have no leader, and everyone is a leader. Anyone can make turn reports, anyone can say what they feel, everyone can enjoy the gaming experience, we are all friends, even though we may be many kilometers apart. No-one is under any pressure to fulfill any role, we do as little or as much as we please. We all have highs and lows of activity, but we get the job done in the best possible taste......
If this sounds like your cup of tea then we'll clean out a hutch just for you!!.

We may be cuddly, but we're killers!!!!!
While I am happy to do regular turn reports, I am susceptible to the odd night out, and sometimes the W word spills over into the evening.......

I would suggest a policy of 'go with the flow' if the turn timer goes down to 6 hours left. i.e. Someone (anyone) logs into the game, reviews the posted opinions for that turn, makes the best call they can, and plays accordingly.......

After all, better to have loved and lost, than not to have loved at all......
Let your every day be full of joy, love the child that holds your hand, let your wife delight in your embrace, for these alone are the concerns of humanity.

I like how things are at the moment...relaxed and easy going. Anyone can play the turn, everyone can voice their opinions and anyone can start a new thread on any topic they wish. I think if we start having Leaders then the rest of us might feel less attached to the game because someone else is making all the decisions.

However, that's not to say that later on in the game this might be a good idea. But for now let's go with the flow and enjoy ourselves.

As pointed out in the turn thread, each person should be empowered to act if the see the need.

And, getting ahead of the turn timer would do us a great bit of good and allow that time for discussion without becoming a race to make it back to play prior to running out of time.

I fervently believe in the lack of government (every member a leader) setup, and it was a major player in my decision to join here. It's how I ran the Mercs, and the Goonies, and while both have had problems now that I cannot be quite as active, the system produced 7 players new to demogaming actually playing the turns. This is a greater accomplishment in my book than winning any game, making these demogames approachable, and enjoyable to all. Even the newbies.

Yes, it's not perfect, requires some responsibility from us members, and is a radical departure from the more standard setup of most teams. However, I've found it to be the most FUN, and tends to keep activity higher in general, as the government structure tends to lead to cliques in my experience, and the same old people doing the same old jobs again and again, and the lurkers leaving.

One of the reasons I chose to join the rabbits because there was no set leadership and/or structure. Though I respect both Rob and Geo greatly, I would rather we keep it the way it is.
