Is anyone else having these problems?

I'm having some strange problems; Any ideas?

1. My browser can't download Methos' screenshots from www.civfanatics.net (or anything else from that address). I can get to the main site via www.civfanatics.com. I don't see anything on my end that would block it.

2. When I connect to the pitboss server, it often disconnects while downloading the game data. The message is "We have lost our connection to the host." If I try it three or four times, it eventually works.

hmm what browser u using?(ie, firefox,thunderbird?)on that note what op system are you usin?(linux,vista,xp?)also what internet you got?weird but you never know...

Was this just a one time thing, or is it permanently? I received an email from a HOF player that the HOF site was down temporarily. If you can see them now, then that was the problem.

If you can never see them, then I'd check your settings. My work firewall blocks all of CFC's main content, but not the forums.

When you install civ it asks you about allowing certain ports for multiplayer, just curious if you did that. Plus, you might check your security, as I know mine (Norton) plays hell with my civ update.

I'm still having the screenshot problem at home (Win XP Pro SP2, Firefox 2 and IE 7) but not at work (SuSE Linux, FF 1.5). Firefox is stalling with the status message "Waiting for static.apolyton.net...". IE 7 says it's downloading pictures from www.civfanatics.net.

I don't use a software firewall and I've never known my HW firewall to cause strange problems. I've deactivated my anti-virus (Nod32; which does some web filtering) and Ad Blocker, but no change. I wonder if my ISP could be blocking that site?

I'll keep working on it and, if I find anything, I'll post it here.

hmm interestin,i have kaspersky internet security 7 and it wont even allow me near apolyton, i hav to disable it to post on the threads.maybe your antivirus or internet settings are at too high a level?(start-control panel-internet options-tab on security,check the level,maybe its too high,also as does my antivirus,i have other levels of control settings,maybe check if nod32 has some.

now as far as the "hav lost connection to the host"-that might be the isp tho i doubt it...i will research and let you know if i find anything
