Final decision: Disband the team or not?

If we don't have a turn player, then we don't have much of a team, unfortunately.

I have voted yes, for the arguments stated.
Unless the outcome changes in the next 24 hours, I propose we declare GS officially disbanded. Other teams want to move on and if there is no sign for a future of any kind, we should best not delay and move forward, so that each of us can still pick a new team. So to anyone who hasn't voted still (officially 10 members), please vote or step up as the new leader in the next 24 hours please."Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise can not see all ends." - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring.

By the way, does anyone have a team in mind where he'd prefer to move to?"Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise can not see all ends." - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring.

Well, here are my assessments:
Rabbits: A band where most the members have been on the same team for several demogames. My experience with the individual members is that they are all nice, fun, and pleasant to be around. Have had disagreements with several, but they were handled maturely. Frankly, something that's rather rare on Poly.
My experience with them in previous versions of civ is that most are generally above average to good players, but also tend towards a specific strategy (not always the same one, contrary to what some believe), but lean towards warmongery, and can lose sight of other opportunities if situations change.
Possible problems with joining: Time zone issues? With so many from similar time zones, turnchats might be difficult. Depends how they are set up to operate.
Banana: A reincarnation of the Banana team in the C4DG.
Unforutunately, this team is a mystery to me. They took such an early exit in that game...that's all I know, and it doesn't really mean anything. They claim to be out for fun, and did take defeat pretty light hearted in the public forum. That bodes well. Should be open to lots of spam, er I mean fun posting.
Possible problems with joining: Are they truly serious? It is a smaller team, which is either advantage or disadvantage depending on your point of view.
Templars:
Another Beta Team. And given some of the members here, I'm hesitant to post my analysis of their team, but what the heck.
Reviewing the members, I know most of them. I find them all to be good players, but more leaning to builderistic tendancies, and it shows in their approach to combat which tends to be overly cautious and consistantly lacks killer instinct since Civ III. Generally friendly and polite, and varying levels of dedication to their 'themes'. There are some strong personalities on the team that are not afraid to drag out a debate indefinately.
Possible problems with joining:
Personality conflicts. Role Playing may not be your thing.
The others are spanish or off other sites and not really options to join IMO.One who has a surplus of the unorthodox shall attain surpassing victories. - Sun Pin

So you're leaning to join the Rabbits? Or are you going to bring some warmongering to Beta's band of brothers?"Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise can not see all ends." - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring.

Well, contrary to popular belief, and a persona I usually portray, I'm not a mindless warmonger to begin with. But, I am much stronger in commanding a military than I am in commanding an economy.
I haven't decided who to join.
I'm a little disappointed that Beta's team "concept" is strictly RP and no real concept behind it. Otherwise that would be my choice for sure. As it stands, they're just another team. I am curious to see how a Beta led team operates internally, but there are a couple potential personality problems there for me, personally.
My personal time schedule does match with aussies/kiwi's very well, so Rabbits have that going for them. My problem there is wondering if they're going to become another sheep mentality team. Most the perpetrators of that on similar past teams are not there, however, so there is hope there won't be a huge voting block that forces one particular view on everything.
Banana would be the place I would go if I were going to make a paper again. (probably not) But I haven't ruled them out, either. I'm worried their play might make me feel obligated to become more active than I want, if the previous game was not just bad luck.Last edited by UnOrthOdOx; April 11, 2008, 11:17.One who has a surplus of the unorthodox shall attain surpassing victories. - Sun Pin
