...Locutus how did you manage to piss Paddy off some much? I agree 100% with your posts in turn player thread, but Paddy (and Chrisius Maximus) are two of the worst flamers (and knobs) who still play demogames; it isn't worth it to get into an argument with them.

I'm Apolyton staff, that's enough. The Horde basically blames us as staff for the 'incident' with James: they didn't like that we found evidence of his cheating, and naturally that's entirely our fault

I've had a ton of interaction with Paddy since then, but he's always been very poorly disposed towards me and the rest of the (senior) Apolyton staff -- nothing short of serious sucking up by me would make us get along, but I don't suck up to anyone, let alone someone as shady as Paddy. At least until recently I've always been very careful to be cordial to him to keep things friendly, but that's not kept him from finding reasons for getting offended at me. I'm kinda getting sick of the constant slights at me from him though (and from the rest of the Horde for that matter).

Welcome to the world of running a gaming website, where we deal with crap like that on a daily basis...

PS Got your PM. I have no intention of not posting in that thread anymore, chasing people away is one of the Horde's specialties and I'll be damned if I give them the satisfaction of chasing me away from anywhere. I've had to tip-toe around them for the past 3-4 years, I'm not gonna let them ruin this game for me by having to stay away from anywhere they are. Although I agree with the advice you gave in the thread itself and won't post there for another day or two, let things cool down (and will ignore any further trolling by the Horde this game as long as it's aimed at me -- at least while they're attacking me they're not harassing anyone else).

Ah, how familiar does all this sound. I've just come from a team composed mostly of ex-Babylon people, so while I haven't taken part in that particular game, I'm very familiar with it.

Anyway, while I understand Locutus that being staff member it is his duty to correct members, I sense that Krill has some concerns about our diplomatic position towards the Horde and I share these.

So until we know which teams are our neighbors, let's be careful how we approach others. That doesn't mean that we cannot argue with people, but be aware of the "tone" of your posts.

I hate all these feuds that seem to be going on and that continue from one game into another. As serious as some cheats are, I'm very much against taking it to a personal level or holding a grudge against a team that defeated yours in a previous game and such. I'm not perfect in that sense, but I try not to take irritations from a previous game into a new one. Perhaps the only exception is my negative attitude to the mercenary concept. But even that doesn't mean that I hold a grudge against current or former members of that team. Neither do I feel any animosity towards members of Glory of War, for example, even though RP's defeat was a bitter one.

looks like the horde won't be a problem in this game, mighty strange for a team to back out like that. I guess "civ politics" got in the way.
