Talk about your prefered civ for this game, and state the reasons why it is better than any other

    ranDOM.

I'm not really picky, and like all the traits, so random.

Actually, I'ld prefer one of the newer ones just cause I've never seen em. Not having BTS and all. (though price on it got dropped at a local store, so I'm debating...)

I'd wait for them to patch it tbh, so it isn't a broken peice of crap(TM).

Random civs would somewhat hamstring us though, if we got, say Roosevelt...

No real preference here either, I always play with random civs and make the best of what the RNG gods deal me -- every leader has its strengths. That would work for me here too. If we get a sucky one then our victory shall be all the more glorious

But if you want to avoid any real duds, rather than trust the game we could always make a selection of leaders we like/don't hate and roll a dice on that ourselves (or just give Keygen that list and make him pick)...

If we want to select a random civ out of a group of civs that would be kind of cool, and quite a bit different than how in every past game, there has been huge discussions on who would be best for the game settings, map, and preferred player strategy.

My god, I think I love you. (in a totally non-romantic way)

First time I've ever had someone agree with me on this.

Yeah, in online fan forums people tend to get a little carried away and forget that in the end it's all about having fun. Who knew?

I think there are more civs that I wouldn't mind having than those I'd hate to play. Why not just make a shortlist of say 16 civs and then toss coins to see which one we play?

Coins? Bah, you can manipulate coin flips. (trust me...) Pull em out of a hat.

Do we have to pull out the random number generator? http://www.random.org/integers/

Generate 1 random number between 1 and 16. Presto! This way, someone else besides us is manipulating the "coin flip", and we aren't putting different size pieces of paper in a hat that we look into while pulling out the civ we want.

I always use my own, http://ctp2files.apolyton.net/random.php but that works too (With mine you enter your own seed so it's verifiable, but that's not really important here I guess.)

I mistrust any of you to provide code, coinflips, or pieces of paper in a hat that will determine our civ.

Locutus, having the comma as part of your link didn't help

CtP DG folks didn't have any trouble with it, not like I can rig it if I don't know what the seed's gonna be

Well, the civs/leaders that I'd want to play the game with if we were picking would have been Hatty (CRE/SPI), Cyrus (CHM/IMP), Khmer (CRE/EXP), Mali (SPI/FIN) maybe, Pacal (EXP/FIN) or Kublai (CRE/AGG).

Off all the above my favourite would probably be Khmer, but Hatty would be a very nice leader due to being able to research pottery and AH off the bat, only problem is she doesn't start with mining, which Kymer does as well, but Khmer also starts with huntng and so starts with a scout and not a warrior so we would have to build a warrior right at the start.
