Interesting is definetly the word for it - sign me up as a casual player at this stage.
I still need to get internet hooked up at ho,e - and at best it will probably be dial up - so at this stage unsure whether I will actually be able to connect to a direct IP game or not.
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

Do you think there would be any merit in having teams composed mostly from players from roughly similar parts of the world.
As has been posted we are likely to have a 'Spanish' team and in the Warlords there is the sort Southern Cross team.
So why not more teams with a geographical core like this.
This might encourage CFC guys to participate and not turn the BTS DG into an Intersite Demogame.
So for example:
North Europe
South Europe
Africa
Asia
USA/Canada
Southern America
Australia /NZ
and if enough players, further subdivisions.
Oh and there would be no requirement to choose a civ from the geographical area of the team.
there is no Aboriginal/OZ/ NZ/Maori civ leader, so that might lead to some discussion.
We aren't going to mandate that you do something but the main reason against this from a game mechanics perspective is its better if you have more of an around the clock coverage in turn players. Makes for a faster game.
With Pitboss its less of an issue.

I just pop into my teams forums occassionally and tell the turn player how screwed up he is, offer no constructive criticism, and then go spam elsewhere
