I have a difficult time with Prince since my level of play is Noble. Anyway, I tried to conquer Montezuma at first. It didn't work out in the end since he had too much defense at his capital. Thus, retreat was my only option lest I be stuck in a long war with Monty.

With so little space, it was absolutely necessary to create some lebensraum. Basically I had lost the game there already. I tried several other times to conquer him and catch up with the top, because the Aztecs were small and had bad tech. He ended up a vassal of Pericles (like many others did) so whenever I got into war with all my neighbours (all vassals of Pericles) Monty would receive newer military techs so I couldn't beat him.

In the end I at least succeeded in destroying Shaka, razing most of his cities as well as Korean cities and managed to survive the Greek tank onslaught with my puny military.

Since conquest and domination victories were disabled, I cleaned the map off until I was the only civ in the game. Wanted to see what that was like. Then I had to win somehow so I went for space.

          Interesting interpretation crescentfresh!!!

My initial thoughts for this game were to discourage warmongering to promote the more subtle elements of the game, but hats off to you for thinking outside the square!!!

I wondered how big it would make my "base score" (12995) or whatever it's called if I covered the map with my borders and grew population everywhere. You can see when I started playing in the tri-league tournament I finished lots of games with culture victories, and I decided to make an effort to slow down my play and practice the subtle elements of warmongering here. At the start, the game settings looked to me like one of the few maps in the tournament that would be easy for me to clear off through war.

JungleIII is being called up to the major leagues! !@%#$^ and well done. I'll have to go to their threads to read his game summaries.
