Game 27 playing as Sumeria with Gilgamesh… on an Oasis map.

Since this was a ‘raging barbarians’ game, that usually determines to go for military victory, as you will place your units strategically to be attacked on forests and hills and build up their experience points.

We were the only nation starting in the desert of this Oasis map, and we had to head for the cooler climes and more productive resource area. I headed for Hammurabi first and captured all 3 of his cities and destroyed the Babalonians.

Then onto Alexander, taking once city and pausing for a little research as I had just built the Great Library. I then attacked Caesar next and captured his 7 cities and the Roman Empire was now dust in the wind… With all the experience built up, it was back to Alex again and was into my first Golden Age in 1500 a.d.

Because I had saved all my Merchants, Artist, Scientist, etc, and built the Mausoleum of Massalas (sp?), I was now popping out Golden Ages consecutively for 12 turns each for the rest of the game, including one from building the Taj which now made me an unbeatable, power house.

So… finished off Alex, attacked Saladin captured 3 cities and he capitulated, attacked Ramesses and took three cities and he too capitulated and won the game with BOTH Domination and Conquest the same turn, in 1640 with 112,976 points.

FUN Game and thanks to staff for the setup! Happy New Year!

Nice write up Jungle. I have never tried saving all of my Great People until I get Mausallos (sp?). Do you remember how many golden ages in a row it was?

Also I see you are an up and comer on the civfanatics GotM lately. Nice job, man. I shadow those games and usually perish. I just got wiped off the map in 1960 in the Ghandi BotM. eheh.

Yes, thanks to Rob and Nugog and staff for the games.

Hey Crescentfresh - with the Taj, I believe it was 4 in a row... Just trying to pass on some practical tactical ideas, not that I'm a great player at all ...
