This map was a bit too large for anything quick and made for a tough game – at least for a domination victory, which due to a lack of choices (or poor choices) was all that was left for me.

It really was a tough and almost tedious task to work my way to that domination level and hope such a huge land mass doesn’t pop up again very often. I spent nearly 30 hours on this game for a crappy score of 27,900. But since victory was sooo late – in 1971, I got to use units and tactics that are rarely available when conquering much earlier in the game.

I can’t think of anything really interesting to talk about my conquests so, I’ll just mention I built the Oracle (got Code of Laws), Great Library, Taj Mahal, and Mausoleum of Maussollos. I took the Apostolic Palace from Gilgamesh, but was never popular enough to work a victory.

    I built 50 camel archers
    77 Cavalry
    41 Catapults
    25 Infantry
95 tanks (a lot of ground was gained when these were built)
    27 fighters
    27 bombers
    and produced 8 great generals

I eliminated the Orange Gilgamesh as it was too confusing having two Gilgameshes, and then vassalized Purple Gilgamesh and later Hannibal. During the same turn Cyrus, and Hatshepsut capitulated in the end, which gave me 80% of the population and 73% of the map. Only Hammurabi was left on his own when I won.

Still, a victory is a victory – so I’ll say a good, albeit tough game.
