i kept my capitol in the starting position; there wasn't much food but lots of production,
so i planned on this being a wonder city from the start. i quickly built a second city to
exploit the two wonder tiles (flood plain on a regular plain, and stone on a flood plain), as
well as to get access to stone. as in any cultural victory game, my plan was to hit 9 cities
as soon as i could, and then stop worrying about expansion; unfortunately i was only able
to peacefully get to 6, though i did grab both stone and marble.

i nabbed a bunch of key early wonders, which surprised me. i didnt think i'd be able to do it
on emperor. i got the great wall, which allowed me to neglect my military for the expansion phase,
and then i grabbed the pyramids, the parthenon, and the temple of artemis. i generated a pair
of great engineers that definitely helped me grab wonders, and a great spy which i turned into
a golden age. by the time my borders met other people, i had also finished the great library,
chichen itza, and most importantly, the sistine chapel.

i had a really lucky break early on, popping silver at my capital in 175AD. all that extra happy
was crucial; throughout the whole game, virtually none of my cities where ever restricted in growth
cause of happiness. i didn't build the apostolic palace, but fortunately the only other person
who had my religion did. the close quarters of this map meant religion spread around like crazy,
and i was able to spread all 7 religions throught my empire.

wang kong declared war on me a couple of times, i held him off and captured a few cities. then, since
i was resident of the AP, i had everyone declare war on him. his empire fell apart, and i managed to run
in and grab his captial. it was a great city which held the buddhist shrine, and all of that extra income
is what turned my economy around.

the AP didnt have many other interesting proposals. for the next one i forced the khmer to give up
a border city to me- bad move. this mad them angry and provoked a series of wars. they had way more
military than me, so i would have been overrun easily, but they focused only on the city i had taken
via the AP and one other marginal border city, and then i was able to force peace via the AP. also
the next resolution after that was a defensive pact with all members. despite having this, the khmer
declared on me yet again, and were then at war with the whole world. i didn't even have to participate
    before they were butchered.

shortly after this i grabbed the statue of liberty, and then broadway and the eiffel tower. throughout
the game i had generated 4 great artists, which helped a lot towards speeding me to victory. i had a
defensive pact with kublai khan so i just hid behind him. the chinese, the powerhouse of the game, declared on
me at the end, and i lost a good city, but it was too late for them to stop me by then, and i won by culture.
