Well… space race is not a favourite victory of mine, but – I’ll take it anyway.

My initial plan was to knock down the English and hem in Asoka, so he couldn’t build enough cities to mount a serious space race challenge. So… I mounted an early campaign against the English and took out several cities including their capital London.

However, while whomping on the English, as that war ended where I needed it – my good buddy Asoka was sneaking on the advancements and that BtS A.I. had built up his cities to 14 and 15’s when I still had 7 and 8 city size’s. This just wouldn’t do, as he was going to run away with all of the Tech’s and probably run away with a cultural win… or whatever.

So, I had to knock him down hard and after a false start with one war, nearly finished him off with a second, keeping in mind the domination limit. The English never recovered and I just researched whatever it took to get my space ship parts built as early as possible.

My write up is as boring to read as it was to play… not my cup of tea going into space, when I could have had a victory hundreds of years earlier. I do appreciate the opportunity to have played for a space victory ONCE in BtS… that will do me for a long time…

Victoria made her 3 seafood, horse, silver cap in the south and never got a second city. She did Oracle and founded 2 religions and gave me plenty of time to build up and take her civ.

Used the GA from Music to culture bomb next to Asoka's borders. His high population help me avoid the Domination win. Spent a good bit of time teetering on the brink of Domination win.

Came awfully close to Domination when I had to take Asoka's cap to keep him from getting the Culture victory.

I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.
