I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die. -
Used judiciously, such as on an easy map - I think they are an interesting mixup on occasion.
It does seriously change the first 20% of the game though so scores may not be as high... but everyone's should be comparable if handled well.Live your life - as an Adventure! -

Raging Barbs really changes the early game. They can cripple, even destroy, a player's civ at any difficulty level. It is almost as bad as going up another difficulty level.
I'd prefer that they are never seen, or almost never, in the Novice and Intermediate games. At advanced, we should have them some of the time...but not when the player start is in the middle of so much empty land that you have to either build the Great Wall, or fight 3000 years of incursions and raids. Maybe one game in three or four in Advanced?Comment
