  • War without declaration

In my current game of civ3, in Monarch, I'm doing fairly well. I'm the first in score while dragging way behind in tech from my main adversaries. I may post a save later, not on my own comp right now. All's well.

But! Then Persians declare war! Not to me, the Creeks. They fight around, doing not much damage. Comes the Creek turn, they get English to declare war against Persians. Romans, apparently in MPP (hav'to check) declare war on the Creeks. Next thing I know, the Creeks are attacking my cities, not declaring war, taking some of my cities. Now that's what I call a sneak attack. Next turn I'm suddenly at war with them.

The game is on standard map. (Bigger don't work too well on my amd 500... ), two units have been modified, the radar artillery and workers (they got jeeps... in antique too... ) have 2 movement (maybe the reason I'm doing so well, as Egyptians...)

    Bug?
I've allways wanted to play "Russ Meyer's Civilization"

Something similar happened to me with AU201. I declared war on the Romans. After a while Persia declared war on me, so I sign a peace treaty with the Romans and an alliance against Persia (I hate 2 front wars even if I am strong enough to handle it). Being much stronger/faster than Rome, I caputure all Persian cities (ending the war with Persia) and I find out for some unknown reason, Rome is now at war with me without having declared war. I didn't mind as I destroyed the remnants of the once great Roman empire.
