  • Babylonian bowman - an unit which is deadly in the hands of AI.

    For me atleast.

I'm romans, I have made about 20 legionaries. I decide to attack the babylonians south from me.
Result: I lost half of my legions, the babs lost about the same amount of bowmen. And then the bowmen hordes started coming towards my settlements. There seem to be hundreds of them. Amazing performance from the "peaceful Babylonians".

Why are the bowmen so tough to kill??? My legions were hardly match against the bowmen...

    This isn't fair!
I'm not a complete idiot: some parts are still missing.

Some bad luck on your part I'm sure. That, and the cheapness of the unit + golden age. That allows them to churn those babies out, and with a legionary attack force, you couldn't take them out all that quickly. The best way to kill Babylon is to hit them with a large number of horsemen: the speed is the key. Sure, you will trigger their GA, but if you move fast enough, they won't really get much out of it.

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.
