There are enough challenges at the table, with GOTMs, Minitourneys and AU games, to demonstrate skills. What about a nice trip to Alamo, 1337? Or are you too 1337 to show your "ski11z" at merely emperor?

I wonder if 1337 is just panag's DL (or vice-versa). They both seem to share the same almost-methodical disregard for organized language.

            Welcome back I-iz-1337!

I see that many here are giving you a hard time. Someone, Vel i think, stated that those who boast usually do so to compensate for some deficiency.

I will admit though, that I am amused at your posts. I do not feel threatened or irked by them. On the contrary I am entertained. I look forward to meeting you on the field of battle when PTW comes out. Perhaps you are indeed a worthy foe and many just don't realize it yet. Best of luck to you and happy gaming.

Hmm, what about MPP against elite dude?

Since me, as one nice "conscript" don't know to speak "elitish" language. So no way I would ally with him.

              P.S.
Don't get me wrong. I do think that elite dude is realy good civ3 player.

But lack of diplomacy skills will be his downfall!

Keeping up with civs in deity

What I would like to know is how your supose to keep up with the AI civs in terms of technology in deity. It seems to me that it is impossible to keep up with them early due to their decreased costs and that your best bet is to simply build up a big military and bully them. Is this right, or is there another way to keep technologically equal to the AI in deity?

I've always had my best success by letting the AI do the heavy lifting. In the very early game, if you're fast, you can smash a couple AI's to hobble their their growth and keep yourself in tech. Once you grow your empire a bit, sell luxuries to stay in the game, and join wars of opportunity (basically, join in the inevitable gang bangs that occur), and you'll generally go far.

And, since we've got 1337's in our midst, I figured I needed some translation practice, so I give you an excerpt of the Gettysburg Address....

                    Ugh!

I could partialy translate Elite Dude's writings.
                    But this?

                    I'm puzzled.

                          Could someone explain something please,
can(do) you set up your keyboard to 'type' like this, or do you have to do a caps-shift thing the whole time
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

no caps-ing or shift-ing required. just lots of numbers ... lots and lots of numbers.

of course if you're really 1337 you cut out the letters completely.

                            ¦-¦0\/\/ ¦>¦_¦11?
