  • Backwards!!leading and backwards???

i am in a game where again i have a huge civ (the nearest civ has 1/4 of my # of towns. but i was at war quite some time . still i am putting library's and university's everywhere and still those guys are ALL before me in literacy.i am researching all in 4 turns.
there is something very wrong here ....
i was leading before the war (and largely)
is this another way the ai tells you to live in peace??
i know they probably trade advances but if you have only **** to trade??
i was leading at least with 10 adv and then a war and bam

    AI is cheating somehow... IMO

starting at regeant lvl, it's almost impossible to beat the AI to finishing a wonder.
i start building the pyramid asap
after producing 2 warriors (10 turns?) and a settler (another 10?)
    then temple, then pyramid
the settler then produce 2 warriors to "patrol" the capital while it's building the pyramid to keep the unhappiness down 'cause pop if going above 6
while, all the time, the AI wonder city builder have pop at most 4
so, how can a pop 4 city out produced a pop 8?
and to make it worse, they always beat me by a few turns!

and when it comes to trading... the most annoying thing is...
a few civs and i have been in contact and pretty much equally advanced
then a new civ came in contact, it's like half way in ancient era, and the rest of us already in the beginning of the next era
w/i a turn or 2, that obsolete civ suddenly became as advanced as us!!
dang civs trading all their techs to the new guy and bam, it became 1 of the top 5 civs
a human player would NOT trade tech away like that to make them technologically advance over in 1 turn!!
AI should not also, since a rise of another civ means another threat to them!

    /rant off

    AI expansion is bad.
    Corruption is worse!

yep in that game i build a few wonders but ALLWAYS for the important ones the ai beated me for 1 turn!!!!
and asking for tribute is quite random to.....i ask at a ai with like 5 or 6 towns.and he said i was bluffing or such stuff !!!(with 70+ towns)
3 turns later he was out
well maybe because he had a protection pact with the second civ.
      dident help him much though

Hmm... That's strange. I play at regent and built virtually ALL wonders before the AI... Maybe the key is industrious civ and planning building wonders in advance...

nope it's a bit simplyer then that just stick in despotism and you build allmost all wonders
i did this with the romans and rome had 8 wonders until now and the ai 0
i think going to monachy before waste and corruption is under control is a bad thing to do
