What does this mean in Civ terms anyway?

In Civ2 - I used to grab Communism straight away since it gave no corruption.

I see (in many threads) advisory's to the effect that Communism is the way to go under certain circumstances - such as war.

However - I like to play the Americans - and that culture is abhorrant towards Communism. What does that mean exactly in game terms?

Is there anywhere in the 'manual' that discusses that? Not that I've found at any rate (nor elsewhere neither).

    And go well with ketchup.'

Dont worry, it only means that if the Americans are AI then the last government they will choose is communism.

As a human player you can choose whatever you wish for without penalties, this is a game about changing the history of the world after all
