  • The bargaining table is as rigid as hell on major deals

*NOTE- I playing on Deity. Well I guess this is a good thing because you cann't take advantage of the computer. Anyway I'm very early in the game and I'm offering my size 2 city with no improvements it's surrounded by Tundra and Hills thier is one source of gold and several game resources near by. Thiers a little flexibility in tech trading and other smaller deals like that, but thier was no flexibility at all when I offered my city.

Anyway I offered my city it to Alexander, Caesar, and Cleopatra. Alexander gives me by far the best deal. Contact with Russians, Alphabet, The Wheel, and 100 gold. This deal is absoloutely set in stone. I even cut the deal down by taking off Alphabet and he wouldn't accept it. Then I cut it down again buy taking off the 100 gold and he wouldn't accept. Thier was absoloutely no ability to make any of kind of changes at all to what he had offered me.

Anyway this is definately the best deal i have been offered; usually the computer trys to rip you off when you trade techs.

Wha huh? If it's set in stone why did you change it, and why wouldn't he accept it?

Then I cut it down again buy taking off the 100 gold and he wouldn't accept.
Ditto. Who is "he"? Can you clarify this?

        it still doesn't make sense.

After it was 'set in stone' why did you offer to make the deal for less? I don't understand. Go through it again, please.

            Even I understand that.

He offered that to test the AI. They didn´t accept a better (for them) deal. Which means they are pretty inflexible.

That's the only thing I could come up with for what it could mean. But I wasn't sure...that's why I wanted him to clarify.
