  • No Rushing!!!

Of all the strategy games out there, this game is probably the WORST one to rush in. I like to get my money's worth (50 freakin' dollars, 30 more for the expansion!) for computer games and in here, play to the modern age or sumtin'. This is a history game, ENJOY HISTORY. I used to love playin' single player all day, great AI on this game. But then i tried the expansion multiplayer, and there were all of these "hardcore gamers" that rush with a bunch of archers in like, 3000 BC. Someone please tell me how this is "worth it".

Ah the woes of MP, it is about winning. Find some players that like to play as you do or put up some road blocks.

      Welcome to MP.

Most Sp -> MP games are subject to rush tactics. Either deal with it, or find like-minded players who don't play that way.

Poke around here at Aployton... you'll find some good stuff, and good people to play with.

Look to your signature, GH. You have to watch out for those multiplayers who like to do it the quick and easy way, just for the brag rights.
Also, if they won, it worked so build some units already! Multiplayer Civ3 IS a different game. Many games end by elimination much earlier than in single play. Who knows, next time YOU may be the one that's rushing!

I was just ranting about how i didn't spend 80 dollars on Salamanca, Niagara Falls, some advances, horses, and a bunch of mounted warriors. I spent 80 dollars on Washington, London, Berlin, 4 ages of advances, tanks, oil, iron, the satisfaction of bombing the crud out of the comp players with long range stealth bombers, and a gigantic range of other stuff.

GH, check out the Conquests preview at Gamespot.

My attitude: Bear with Firaxis and their partners... good things come over time.
