  • Armies in 1.29

I havent installed the patch yet, I want to finish my current game before patching and so on so I'll wait a bit even if I have already d/l the patch. Changing the rules in the middle of a game feels "dirty" or so to say.

So I hear in 1.29 cavalry/mounted armies can blitz. They also heal each unit separately which heals them much much faster. What else do they do?

One thing I specially want to know is: Do 100% Marine armies do amphibious assaults?

In my last game I built 4 armies of Marines to make an amphibious assault and I had to unload them on the shore. The attack succeeded and I had my armies of marines killing everything they can reach on time (tanks are much more agile...), but I wanted to do amphibious.

How about 100% Para armies? Do they paradrop?

Marine Armies do not work for amphibious assaults.

    Don;t know about Paras.

Yes 100% marine armies can not perform an amphibious landing(i have tried it out).

After i found out that about the marines i did not bother testing it on the paratroopers.

P.S Theseus just noticed it.Cool Connan quote!
"Military training has three purposes: 1)To save ourselves from becoming subjects to others, 2)to win for our own city a possition of leadership, exercised for the benefit of others and 3)to exercise the rule of a master over those who deserve to be treated as slaves."-Aristotle, The Politics, Book VII

Thanks... it's actually a different translation of the same quote from (I believe) Ginghiz Khan's military advisor, Subotai.

I've always thought it appropriate for how I generally play...
