I want to customize a civilization, save it, then be able to use it in random games. How do I do that?

This question is best suited to Civ3-Creation, but...

    --Open up the editor.
--Open up the rules editor, flip to Civilizations tab.
--If you have 1.29, hit the add button to make a new civ. If not, you'll have to modify an existing one.
--Save it as whatever the name of your civ is.
--Load it as a scenario. (As long as you don't include a map, you'll be fine.)
oh god how did this get here I am not good with livejournal

Custom civilization, custom unit - it all gets pretty complicated in this game. You have to edit heaps of stuff to make it fit well into the game.

As the bloke above said, check the Civ3 Creation forum.
"Show me a man or a woman alone and I'll show you a saint. Give me two and they'll fall in love. Give me three and they'll invent the charming thing we call 'society'. Give me four and they'll build a pyramid. Give me five and they'll make one an outcast. Give me six and they'll reinvent prejudice. Give me seven and in seven years they'll reinvent warfare. Man may have been made in the image of God, but human society was made in the image of His opposite number, and is always trying to get back home." - Glen Bateman, The Stand (Stephen King)

Hm, the editor has many more uses then just making maps, keep that in mind. Many times, you can learn very valuable information in the editor, and when editing a map, be careful. One time, I tried editing cultural output on the old patch, and the editor stoped working, I had to reinstall, though I don't think that'll happen on the new patch.
