Look in the files-section on how to edit savegames...atleast I think it's there I really dunno. Speaking from a long background in gaming I can safely say that the moment you use cheats you'll find yourself bored after 5 minutes...at least for me that is.

the day i found the hex adress to change my money in civ2 i played 2 more games and then never again

you are just cheating yourself....)
yes off course i had 2 times a great victory but no merit so i got bored.
and once you have the hex adres when you get in trouble you will use it
