Here's a question that rose to my head as I was reading these.. what happens if you conquer an enemy city with a small wonder while you already have one? I'm sure many of us would like multiple forbidden palaces, or a couple of wall streets wouldn't be bad either.

Every single Small Wonder you capture gets burnt to the ground. The capturing soldiers do that before they even plant your flag in the city!
But no, you cant get multiple small wonders, regardless of if you've built one or not.
