How do I use the %@#% mods?

The question pretty much says it all. I have donwloaded and attempted to use both the AU210 save files (as the Americans from Regent through to Diety). I boot up my Civ III and try to load the games as I would a normal save file and get an error. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Do you have the PTW expansion? These scenarios were created with PTW. Other than that I can't think of anything because they were set up to be able to be played without needing anything special.

What kind of error do you get? Corrupted file? Crash?

Make sure you have Play the World and you are patched with the latest patch (1.27)

Oh. I just have normal Civ III, I guess that must be it.

Yes you have to go back a ways to find an AU that is for Civ or for both. Follow the HIstory of AU if you want one, watch out for patch levels.
