Cruise Missiles Suck

ruthless, there are plenty of military simulations out there. This ain't one of them (neither is RoN, but you would LIKE its CMs).

The only real improvements I can see that are needed is a greater range and as panag said to be launched from ships.

Indeed as in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where ruthless served aboard USS Kittyhawk. I forget the actual range of CM in Civ2 now but you could load them onto Aircraft Carriers could'nt you ?

Panag, you've got to be joking about Civ.

Harpoon I could understand - the maps aren't the best but the modelling is very good, especially V3.

But CIV? The time scale, the physical scale, all of the warfare bits seem like a long way from the real world.

CIVs a great game - but surely there are better battlefield simulators than this?

If not, maybe I'd better write one quick.

not to mention some european countries who are using strategy games more and more to teach the next generation of high ranking "players" , .......

americasarmyonline game is just one example , .....

the US , UK and french now even have special more bloody games like doom etc , ..... " to get used to the blood and how to react in a given situation at a specific time " , ... in other words , how to teach " survival " , .....

and any serious military person who has been to an armed conflict in the last couple of years can tell you that there is not a lot of differnce between civ or some other games and the c&c in the HQ , ......

I will reiterate my request for a link.

I understand that they use some simulation games and such. I was not aware that they used civ.

Hmmm, if this were true, the above might be considering the danger of culture-flipping in that ancient Babylonian civ they've just moved into.

Better ship in some lux and build some improvements quick! Whaddya mean you're only hooking up the oil and getting in more MP for now, have you not seen the attitude screen?

the idea is not about the game itself , the idea is to create ( as far as you can do that with a person ) the sense of strategy and micro managment , ......

Actually, cruise missiles saved my country!... during the WW1...
I managed to hunt down ennemy radar surveillance site with cruise missile, why did ya use cruise missile will you ask?
I had not lots of modern assault tanks, and I needed them to capture the three ennemy cities wich was the main objectives of my "Retaliation Operation" . With radar surveillance, defensive bonus of ennemy units was multiplied. thanks to air bombing coordinated with a final cruise missile fire on each target ( radar i mean) troops what kept safe the radars were destroyed, and my uselless old infantries could destroy the radars site without problems. My tanks were free to attack the cities in the same round, cities whose radars were destoyed...
but this was a defenses operation, these cities were located near my frontiers... as the releationships were more and more bad, i began to organize" Operation Retaliation" . Unfortunately, the cold war ended on a tragedic world war...

My Country, my country, not the france in our real history... because in the real WW1 we can read in history books, cruise missiles did'nt exist, even if french army was quite great in those days (sig) it hadnot cruise missiles. The firsts were the german von braun's V2...
