With a small number of Moderates supporting it in the center, the US has passed a law to give aid to start to rebuild Canada. Half of the troops in Canada are moved out and sent to Ireland to quell the rebellion.

A bill to give aid the the CSA in rebuilding their economy fails in the senate.

Big important news! THe US President, William Taft, dies after getting stuck in the White House bathtub! Vice President and Moderate Warren HArding was quickly sworn in.

Elections are coming up! The Coalition looks to retake the Senate after the economic rebuilding law stops much of the grumbling among Canadians.

In the CSA, a presidential election is coming up! The Rad Libs and the Freedom Party are both hoping to end the 50+ year reign of the WHigs. Current polls show the Rad Libs as being the strongest party by a little bit, but the Electoral College would give the victory to the Whigs if the election were based on the polls.

US: House: THe Coalition has made minor gains. The death of Taft has resulted in an outpouring of sympathy for REpublicans. The democratic party is quickly shrinking!

CSA: President: No one got enough electoral votes (the whigs were just 2 short though)! In the House, the Rad Libs have chosen as President their candidate, John Jackson. In the senate, the whigs have made Wade Hampton V VP. The Rad Lib president supports becoming more friendly with the US.
House: A resurgence of the Whigs results in an equal number of representatives from each party!
Senate: The Freedom Party is getting closer to thw WHigs, but don't have contorl yet.

The US Senate finally agrees to nullify the treaty with the CSA, but the Moderate President insists on only slightly lessening the restrictions to allow a small airfoce, large army, and medium navy. AS a result of this, the Coalition is gaining strength for the upcoming presidential eleciton so they can completely remove the restrictions.

President Wilhelm was killed today when he was shot by gunmen during a "Germany Day" parade in Berlin. Early reports show that the gunmen were British terrorists, who were trying to destablize the German Empire so that Britain could become the world's dominant imperial empire. British officals are currently denying these claims.

Vice-President Adolphus will be taking his office for the rest of the term.
