OzWolf, a quick question
What difficulty did you play at? Just wondering because it is rare for me to see the AI wipe any one out!
Secondly, how did the Castaways work in-game? or is this force something you invented?AI:C3C Debug Game Report (Part1) :C3C Debug Game Report (Part2)

This was on Warlord level. I will admit, it was one of the few times I have seen the AI wipe out one of its own. I suppose they did it easier because they were on the same continent. But in about three turns, I got a message saying that the Aztecs and the Russians had been defeated (I took part in wiping out the Aztecs).
As for the Castaways, when I disbanded the my cities on the mainland (ie. built a whole bunch of workers until the city was < 3 in size), I left a bunch of rag-tag battered troops (one tank, two infantry and one artillery if I remember) and decided to see if they could be a pain in the arse. The "capture" of the Russian oilfields was really a battle between my Castaways army and a Russian army which I won and allowed me to cut their supply lines, effectively cutting Russia off from its own oil.Oooh! Pretty flashing red button! * PUSH *

No...it actually took part over quite a few turns...I compressed the story timeline (I think it was about 20-30 turns in game...so I simply compressed it for the sake of the story). I was babbling some nonsense about the three turns (and still got the info wrong). That's what I get for writing late at night.
The three turns reference was notifications that the Russians and Aztecs had been defeated. I don't know how long the Americans had been fighting the Aztecs, but they finished them off. Then after the last turn that was part of the story, I went with Rome and we split Russia between us. I spent about 100+ turns trying to defeat the Americans (after allying with them to take the Iroquios), but they were too strong. By the end, neither side had captured an enemy city. Trying to mount an invasion across the the ocean to America and vice-versa became an impossible concept. The initial invasion would go well, then die of forward push and the defenders would counter-attack taking everything back.
It was most frustratingOooh! Pretty flashing red button! * PUSH *

tHANKS for clarifying Ozwolf, I look forward to your next story.
Also, I remember you mentioning family members being sick had kept you from finishing this story sooner. Having lost my father less than a year ago, it must be tough for you. Best wishes to your family.AI:C3C Debug Game Report (Part1) :C3C Debug Game Report (Part2)
