  • Story Contest Nominations-ROund 2

So the first contest isn't over yet, but here's a new one. I'm working with the rules that once a story has been seconded in one contest, it can never be in another. SO here are the unseconded nominations that carry over, so we already have quite a few nominations:

    1-The Hunting Season, by cbraund
    2-The German/British Conflict, by PresidentMike
3-The Persian Invasion of 1542, by PresidentMike
4-War Without Reconaissance is for Naught by Big Ben

    5-California Dreamin by curlyboy24
6-The Campaigns of Babylon by Jimmy_Shark
7-Great Big Death story of MRkorth! by Jeremy
    8-Odyssey of a Hero by WTE_OzWolf
    9-The Great War by Ricobirch
10-Operation "In Vino Veritas" by Arrian

    11-One Lovely War by cbraund
12-A history of Persia and her neighbors by SKILORD (at civfanatics)

The nominations in bold have been seconded. Once there are 8 seconded nominations, a checkbox poll will be made, then the top 4 from that poll will advance to the final round.

The nomination process is now complete

I second Odyssey of a hero by WTE_OzWolf
"Listen lad. I built this kingdom up from nothing. When I started here, all there was was swamp. All the kings said I was daft to build a castle in the swamp, buit I built it all the same just to show 'em. It sank into the swamp. So, I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third one. That burnt down, fell over and then sank into the swamp, but the fourth one stayed up. And that's what you're gonna get, lad, the strongest castle in these isles."

Civman2000: Thanks for doing this. I was going to, but I haven't really had the chance.

For all the help you've given me, as well as the enthusiam you've shown for the story contest, I think you should run this one. Maybe I can do the next one, whenever this one finishes. If you want my help, you've got it.

I shamelessly nominate my own story, written long ago, and now buried in the back pages... here:

            -Arrian
grog want tank...Grog Want Tank... GROG WANT TANK!

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

There is a misundrstanding. I did not nominate it, I just put in Tarquinius's nomination he had forgotten to mention on the official (or actually it's still an unofficial contest) thread. Therefore it will not be treated as being seconded until someone else seconds it.
