    -hey pierre!-
    -yah, jacque?-
    -wasthat?-
A large vehicle was coming toward them.
    -im not sure...-
Twenty feet from the French trenches a steel covered device made its way forward.
An unmistakable red and orange Roman flag appeared.
A large barrel lowered at the French trench.
    -good lord…-
The two soldiers fired but there was a loud sound that muted the ricochets.
Both were thrown into the air.
As Pierre came down, he looked at his friend, numbly realizing Jacque was dead.
    A faster, rat-a-tat, left darkness.

I rewrote that story too many times. Originally, it was supposed to be a few lines, but I couldn’t fit all the words into it. At one point it was twice as long, with much more coming, but it was supposed to be short and sweet, so I reluctantly held down the –Backspace- button. When it looked something like it does now, I pressed –Submit Reply-. But no, my internet messed up. So I copied it onto Word and set to editing. Today, a full day later, I copied and pasted back onto Apolyton. I hope you like the finished product!

I always wondered what those spearmen were thinking when my tanks rolled over them...
