Okay, this is my first story. It is a bit documentary and not too long but I hope you like it. There is also map included. Please give some feedback so I can make a better next time. And sorry for bad english, I'm from Finland

    prologue

Spring 1999 shock the world as worlds two leading super powers (England and Iroquoes) engaged in a conflict which nearly eneded in a nuclear holocaust. The roots of this conflict lay in the policy which Iroquoes adapted in the mid ninetyes. 1994 Hiawatha was elected as a president of the Iroquoes. He soon started a program which goal was to increase Iroquoes influence in the southern ocean. Egyptians had also started to center significant military force to the southern ocean. In the southern ocean there is four major islands which were at that time under the control of three small states; Russia, Creek and Babylonia. the fourth island was controlled by English. By the year 1996 Egyptians and Iroquoes had made numerous treaties with Russia, Creek and Babylonia. These treaties significantly reduced the independence of the three small states. England was not pleased about this development in the southern ocean region and announced it's concern about the situation. Despite the warnings Egypt and Iroquoes continued their persuade against Russia, Creek and Babylonia. In 1997 both Iroquoes and Egypt demanded military bases from the islands. Egypt concentrated on Babylonia and Iroquoes on Russia. Finally in 1998 Egypt declared war on Babylonia and seized control of the island. Russia shared same destiny as Iroquoes troops marched to Russia. Creek was now left alone against ever hardening demands of the Iroquoes. England announced to give finnancial aid to Creek. Creek mainland lay only some 400 kilometers from the Island of Piedras Negras which was controlled by English. England did not expect Iroquoes to start war so close to english borders.

    Conflict begins

In 1998 23. of November, despite all warnings and treaties, Iroques seized the control of Creeks most important harbor city, Corinth. Creek immediately called for help. England was not willing to risk it's troops and only warned Iroquoes once more. Iroquoes responded that it was not Englands job to interfere with relationships between Iroquoes and Creeks. As Iroquoes continued their march towards Athens England had little choices left. They started to prepare to a full scale attack. In the island of Piedras Negras troops took defensive positions. Whole of January more ground troops were moved to the island and aircraftcarrier York and it's fleet started a voyage to the southern ocean. Already in the area was aircraftcarrier Queen Victoria, which was moved to the cost of Creek to start reconaince flights. It was discovered that Iroquoes did not have any major battle ships in the area and their ground forces consist of tanks and infantry. Creeks did not have anything to stop the Iroquoes and on 26. of March Creek announced that they have lost the control of their capital city Athens.

    Operation Zeus Hand

After the fall of Athens English started to hasten their war plans. England warned Iroquoes one more time and when that didn't have any effect they cut all relationships with the Iroquoes, World hold it's breath. Aircraftcarrier Queen Victoria carried out many recon flights during February and March and on 3. of April English had quite accurate positions of the Iroquoes troops. In the dawn of 4. of April first bomber planes armed with missiles and laserguided bombs rose from the deck of Queen Victoria. At six o'clock in the morning first air strikes were made against Iroques troops in the are of Athens. Iroquoes troops were shocked as they had not expected any resistance. Operation Zeus Hand was on it's way. The first stage of the operation was to stop the advance of Iroquoes troops with massive airstrikes and then concentrate on the city of Athens.

    Battle on the sea

As it was discovered, Iroquoes didn't have any navy fleet in the conflict zone. English were a bit amazed about this fact and remained on alert. As Queen Victoria contiuned it's bombings near the shores of Creek, aircraftcarrier York and it's fleet of one battleship, one cruiser and one destroyer remained in the shores of Piedras Negras. When first bombings were carried out against Iroquoes, the number of recon flights from carrier York was doubled. On the 15. of April a small fleet of 3 destroyers and 1 transport was detected some 300 kilometers to north-east of city of Chondote, It was quickly identified as Iroquoes fleet. Bombers from York quickly took off and headed for the fleet. Iroquoes fleet was taken completealy by surprise and all of the ships were damaged by the attack. Iroquoes fleet called for help and cruiser King George was sent to the area. When King George was some 20 kilometers from the ships, one of the damaged destroyers opened fire. King George immediately retaliated and sunk the destroyer. All other ships of the Iroquoes fleet sunk too. Some Iroquoes were rescued to cruiser King George which was slightly damaged and had to be repaired in Chondote harbor. On the 17. of April aircraftcarrier York and Battleship Edinburg moved closer to the waters of Creek and took part in the bombings of Iroquoes groundtroops.

    Liberation of Athens

Iroquoes troops around the city of Athens did not have any antiaircraft assistance and were easy targets for the english bomber planes. After the bombings begin Iroquoes troops run in to a disorder but still made some attacks against defending creek forces. After week of bombings Iroquoes troops around Athens were nearly destroyed but some managed to retreat to Athens. The first stage of the operation Zeus Hand was a complete success. As english and creeks begin to plan the liberation of Athens it became cleart that it was impossible to destroy Iroquoes troops in the city with only airstrikes. Iroquoes had took strong defensive positions in the city and used many public buildings as their bases. On the 14. of April English started to carry out strategig bombing runs to Athens. At the same time a small army of english ground forces landed on the shores near Delphi and started to andvance towards Athens. It consisted of 2 tank battalions and 1 infantry battalion. In Athens Iroquoes had 1 tank battalion and numerous infantry battalions. On the dawn of 21. of April two english tank battalions were in position to attact the city. Final bombing runs were made and 8.00 o'clock in the morning english tanks started an assault to the city. They met little resistance in the outher skirts of the city but some 3 kilometers from the city center they were confronted with heavy resistance. It became cleart that the Iroquoes defensive lines were still pretty much intact despite the bombings. Many of the english tanks were destroyed and only few managed to escape. This was a catastrophy to England's army. More ground troops were ordered to Creek island and heavy bombings continued in Athens. One of the goals of operation Zeus Hand was to minimize the amount of civilian victims but it was now clear that the goal was impossible. On 28. of April arfter
week of heavy bombing the city of Athens lay in ruins, thousands of civilians had lost their life. Iroquoes troops had also suffered serious losses. On 30. of April English troops assaulted the city again and managed to break Iroquoes defence lines. After many weeks of siege the Iroquoes troops had run out of suplies and ammunition and had no other choice than to surrender. After Iroquoes surrendered Creek's second rifle brigade took control of the city. The second stage of the operation Zeus Hand was now completed but the cost was terrible.

    End of the conflict

After the liberation of Athens, english focused on the remaining Iroquoes controlled city, Corinth. English ground troops continued their march to Corinth while bombers carried out strikes against Iroquoes troops in the city. There was only few Iroquoes infantry battalions defending the city and when english tanks arrived Iroquoes immediately surrendered. Creeks took the control of the city and english troops stayed near the city. On 20. of May Iroquoes and Creek signed a peace treaty. Iroquoes had suffered a humiliating defeat in the conflict and they had to accept the english influence in the southern ocen. For english, the war had proved that it was possible to fight a war long way from homeland and that english military force was way more advanced than Iroquoes.
