Got some news from the gameswarehouse today. Looks like there is noStreet date so whenever it hits, it hits so from various estimates from the 9th to the 16th is fair game. here's the transcript of the email I got today.

    Regards
    Stefan

I have talked to OziSoft yesterday morning and again this morning they did
not have it booked into their Warehouse yet but they still expected us to
have it tomorrow on the 9th (I am not sure how this can be) They said I
could call them again tomorrow and they might know more but that is what I
    was told on Wednesday.

So it looks like we will not have it until early next week. There has been
no Street date set on this titles (a street date restricts stores so than
cannot sell it until that day) so as each store receives the game they can
sell it. As not all stores can get it on the same day there may be a few
days between when each store has Civilisation III.

if you have any other question or require other information please let me
know thanks for asking us at Games Warehouse.

I have pre-ordered a copy of the limited edition from Electronics Boutique, in Queensland, and they have told me that they would be receiving the game on the 19th November. Your post interests me, because if it applies in my case, I might have Civ III before I go to Schoolies Week. Thanks for the info.

Latest date i heard was 19th, from EB as well.

Just a quick question, Myth... Where do people from Brisbane go during schoolies?? Cuz i know everyone from NSW goes up to Brisbane (well, Gold Coast, but via Brisbane )
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Pulsar in Bourke St say they'll have it Wednesday (I rang Friday morning).

Schoolies is a stupid rich-kid "tradition" started up in the past five years where wealthy kids get sent to Queensland for a week's holiday after completing the "arduous" VCE. Poor dears.

You probably just explained one lot of jargon with another. The VCE is the certificate for completing high-school in Victoria.

Btw, Pulsar told me Wednesday as well.

Schoolies week happens primarily at the Gold Coast, namely Surfer's Paradise. Action can also be found at the Sunshine Coast and some other places, but G.C. is the hub. If you want more information, you can go to the official Schoolies Week Site. I only have 3 more days of school to go now, so I will be going to the first week of Schoolies (it is two weeks long).

Its older than that - I went up for it 20 years ago.

Its hardly a "rich-kid tradition". There arent enough rich kids in all of Australia to make the Gold Coast as packed as it is during schoolies.

And besides, its more like celebrating the end of 13 evil years of education, rather than finishing some irrelevant tests.
