  • Historical Study: Count Tripula

This is an idea I had to see if we could build up a history and mythos of folklore for our PTW world.

Since the comparison of Trip of Lux Invicta and Vlad the Impaler I thought it would make a good test subject. This is a thread for anyone to post folklore of Count Tripula or documentaries on the historical basis of the Count Tripula mythos, Trip the Impaler.

It should not matter if the histories/folklore contradict each other as they can simply be viewed as the poetic license of the writer.

    Now write.

From what we have heard from Trip's descendant who is a slave of the Glory of War:

"Count Tripula... a horrible man... I am embarrased to have him as a forefather. He caused his own downfall by selfishly hogging resources, and scouting where he shouldn't. He then angered the Arabs, who quickly threatned his cities.

It is here that Count Tripula started his evil plan. Instead of fighting the Arabs, Tripula started to slaughter his own people."

It is here that Trip Jr started to break down, then we ordered him to continue on the road he was building.

This is a good idea, I will have my family's tutor/historian, Master Jeebers begin compiling a list of histories of the infamous Trip the Impaler.

Well, you know, I was a military observer for Spain at the fall of Count Tripula's palace. Sultan Borc was seen to break into tears at the sight of thousands of impaled Arabs. He then ordered the troops to tear the city apart.

"The Sultan's army came across a field with stakes, about three kilometers long and one kilometer wide. And there were large stakes on which they could see the impaled bodies of men, women, and children, about 20,000 of them, as they said. The Sultan, in wonder, kept saying he could not conquer the country of a man who could do such terrible and unnatural things."

        But he did anyway.

I was never aware Trip ever impaled Arabs. I know he impaled the entire population of the Lux cities of Fabio, Felix the Cat, and Luxius Strikeus to convince the Arab forces he was not to be trifled with. Unfortunately that left him with no subjects so there wasn't much left with which to trifle.

Unfortunately, we cant get a close up of his face as he always seems to be running away ?

Those aren't Lux slaves, they are Lux refugees who were able to escape "The Impalings". Legend has it that when the last Luxian is impaled on a spear Tripula shall arise as an invicible demigod and rule the world in eternal darkness.

Well, that is what they say.

Any man who kills his own people in great numbers cannot rest, for he is tortured for all ages in hell...or at least...heck!!

On the Island where Tripula's body was buried, the exact spot is underneath the doorway, so that Tripula's ghost cannot rise out of it to terrorize the villagers. Perhaps we should go over there with a stake and make sure he stays that way, eh?
