  • Editing posts in the private forums?

The ability for any one user to edit other people's posts in the private forums is clearly a bug, and possibly a troublesome one.

However, it has good uses too if people act responsibly (such as each minister editin one central Turn Orders post so the President doesn't have a whole thread to look through).

I've suggested to Markos that the bug is a useful one and he said that it's basically up to us if we want to keep it or not. Well ... do we?

Well it can be useful when updating threads with pertinent nation information. That way the same guy doesn't always have to do it.

I figure small teams can handle it. Maybe some of the big teams will edit each other's posts and start insulting each other and then my hope is they will fall into anarchy . Us small teams will be just fine.

If a team can't trust its members to use the feature responsibly, something is seriously wrong. I view the feature as a useful one, and only wish my bugs would prove to be so beneficial.

Yes it will, Mark has asked FP to make this poll.

              It our choice.

(it saves Mark some work.... ...)

I too say keep it. Like Dissident already said, it makes editing certain threads by all members alot easier to do.

Oh, darn, so it's too late to ask you to tell him, that we can't attach files and pictures in the private forums, which makes team work a PITA. Strange, that nobody has mentioned this yet...

If any ONE thing is to be fixed I would greatly prefer it to be the activation of attachments and images.

                    The editing bug is fine.

A quote from Mark in the community forum:

now if anyone has any other civgroups suggestions(and yes, all the ptwdg related stuff are still veyr high on my list), i'll leave this thread open.....
So the attachement thing should hopefully be fixed soon

I mentioned that to him. All of the stuff we've previously told him is apparently on his "to-do" list.
