  • Proposal: 3 Leaders Rule

In order to speed up the early game, I propose the following rule:

    1. Each team must list at least three "authorized players".
    2. Each authorized player must be able to play the game when the save reaches him without having to consult the other leaders.
    3. Authorized players have to be at least 5 hours apart in terms of timezone (e.g. you can't have all three leaders in western Europe).
    4. This rule must be approved by every team leader in order to pass.
    5. This rule will expire in 10 turns after it is approved and will have to be reapproved by all the team leaders, or else it will be voided.

Great idea (except that n°3 will be hard for Neu Demogyptica )

not three "leader", but three players who are authorized to play for the team..

for example, lux may have one leader, but we have people who may qualify to represent our team. That happened the first turn when trip didnt play.

You guys can make it like pres, vice pre... sec of state.. stuff like that
          :-p

I'm not sure about three but the Glory of War and Roleplay have pretty much always had at least two who could play.

What's up with the other teams?

For Legoland, we have chosen to have two people playing turns. The President (Jack_www) and his VP (me). Lux Invicta has already been informed to email the savegame to both of us every time. I do not think we would like to choose another "player" now. We have an agreement that whenever Jack does not show up within 18 hours of receiving the savegame (we both get it at the same time via email), I play the turn on behalf of our team - posting in a special thread about doing so, in order to avoid playing the turn simultaneously and causing confusion by delivering two savegames to nye/GS.

So far, it's worked just fine.

Forcing a team change its internal arrangements does not seem right to me, at least as long as it manages to play the turns in less than 24 hours.

BFM: like any other rule that is not fitted for the entire duration of the game, it must be approved periodically, to make sure that everyone still agrees that this rule is both appliable and beneficial to the game as the game progresses and becomes more complex.

Calc II: you're right. I changed the wording.

I think the game is fast enough as it is now.

I think it is going well right now. There's no need for a change.

You realize of course that this thread's author is a member of one of the ONLY teams to NOT have an alternate to play the game.

Ghengis, you're wrong, we have a second player: Sir Ralph. And so far we haven't needed him, NYE has always been on his post

we also will have soon 2 players here... (maybe 3 later) others of us have the german version of ptw which should not be used to create the save file...

i think it makes no difference if you have 2 or 3 players...

and actually we are all in the same time zone

Every team must have a primary player, and a secondary player that is allowed to play the save game without any other authorization.
