  • Why are there TWO teams in red???

Ok, I'll grant that I wasn't here on December 1st to put up a stink then, but why are there two teams in red? Couldn't you guys in the chatroom on December 1st have sat down and worked it out so that one team (preferably the one that spoke up second, which I believe was Vox Controli) would have to pick a color OTHER than red?

    It's not the same red.

It's like the Babylonians and Japanese, who both have very similar reddish colors. I think.
(unless the colors get randomized in every game.
In my last SP game the Babs and Japs were red and dark red)

I can tell that one is Japanese Red and the other is Roman Red... but still, they're both red... considering how many colors exist, I would think that the second team (Vox Controli in this case) could have picked something other than Japanese Red as a replacement for Roman Red.... oh well

IIRC no-one wanted to give in.

I am/was not concerned about the actual color for Vox Controli, as long as it was easy on the eyes (easy to see). As long as both of us don't start out next to each other, there shouldn't be a problem.

Because they asked for red and it wasn't my place to tell them that they couldn't have it. It isn't any of our places to do that, IMHO.

btw, I've played Romans (frequently) and been next to Japan with the darker red. I did not find it a problem, so it didn't occur to me that others would have a problem.

Nothing really to argue about here. It's not the same red so it shouldn't be a problem if both teams got the colors they chose.

                  NYE :
How do you set colors? I was sure every civ has it's own constant color.

I set up a scenario with the only things changed being the colours of civs.

is there nothing that people won't complain about?

The two red teams should battle it out and the loser forced to take hot pink
