I say keep the AI. I understand Sir Ralphs' concern, but that provides something of an incentive to other players to protect that AI player. The balance of power can be maintained even if one team or two teams get lucky.

Currently we have 6 teams. Another 1 is forming, and a team from a German civilization forum is making one.

That leaves 0 slots left for the AI should the final two teams get ready by December.

We may seriously want to consider what I think was GhengisFarb's idea of having 2 games with 3-4 human teams in each of them.

            Multiple games?

Get rid of the AI? Unfair advantage to those who start near the AI civz...

Lets see if the German civ team and Jon Millers team and the rest of them can get themselves adjusted and up and running before we decide to disclude them from this game ,though. If not, then my to getting rid of the AI still stands...

there are quite alot of circomstances where this just isn't possible.

NO AI,what is good for, absolutely nothing NO AI,....

Now that we seem to officially have 6 teams, I think removing the AI is a very sound idea. This game is supposed to be a human vs human competition. The AI serves only to complicate and interfere with that purpose. They could also unbalance the game.

                Let's get rid of them.

2 games with 4 players each would be better than 1 game with 8 players IMHO.

If we think that we will ever finish an 8-player game then we are fooling ourselves.

Such a game would most certainly take years! I agree with FP, it is impossible to say for sure that we can finish this game, ESPECIALLY if we have an 8-human team game.
