Will the team leader have more options available to him later? Currently all you can do is add people 'officially' to the team, and nothing else (as I'm sure you're aware ).

I was testing it out to see how it works, relax. And it was only for two seconds. I just want to know how joing the civgroup for a team works, and now I know.
