I heartily agree with this logic. And for this reason I am voting Regent.

Falconius and I agree, and so should everyone else! The AI in a MP game should just be a nuisance, not a major hurtle to overcome.

Given the skill levels of players here.

Deity would actually be a battle with the AI.

In Emperor, the AIs will be merely a nusiance.

In Monarch, the AIs will be virtually vasel states of the players.

In lower levels, the AI will simply be overrun.

I'd say Emperor. Good balance between challenge and fun, and humans don't need to ally up against the evil AIs to actually have a chance before the industrial age.

I don't know about everyone else....

Spending the ancient era saving my ass fromt the righteous fire of the AI in Emperor mode (even in the Ancient era) is not my idea of fun.

Maybe in SP, but in MP, that's not what I would be there for.

Monarch is still winning, though. As a compromise I think that would please most people.

Okay, I can deal with Monarch. It might prove to be interesting...it's only a little tougher than my preferred Regent level...but note, that in Monarch is where the AI really begins to cheat.

maybe, we could use the ai as one big barb tribe, and set them on chieftain

                    Something else of note:

The AI is more easily manipulated into fighting your enemies than another human player. So, if you don't like Joe, jusy sick the AI on him!

Diety. In most demo games the AI civs outnumber you 11 or 15 to 1. In this one they are ONLY half of the civs with at least 3 civs at the same disadvantage of you.

It makes the AI much easier to kill and we have the option of ganging up on them.

If we play at any level below Diety we need to add more AI civs.

I know we could just gang up on the AI, but this game isn't to gang up on the AI, it's to gang up on each other and see how a MP DG really works.

I am pretty dern interested to see what shall happen. What if every human team ended up with an AI ally? Or if all humans went up against all AI? Or etc etc. I'm not suggesting these things HAPPEN, I'm just saying they could. Having not played PTW I'm getting more and more anxious, and my ideas are just bouncing off the walls.

We have not decided either how the victory is obtained : if the AI destroy all humans, is the last civ living the winner ?
