But it doesn't slow the game down, you just do diplomacy on your turn, the guy replies on his turn, you get his response your next turn, etc. etc. etc. You still spend the same amount of time, and each team has 4 or so days to hammer out a deal anyways.

its inefficient


since we have the forums, we have an efficient means of communication

since we can talk about the deals outside of the actual diplomacy window, i think it would be to all of our advantages to do so.

But you're right, most likely deals will be worked out beforehand anyways.

yes, we COULD restrict all diplomacy negotiations to in-game... but that would require laws, an honor system, very private diplomacy....

its just so much simpler if we do it on forums, or in private between teams before the diplomacy screen is seen.
