  • Petition: For the Sake of Fun

    30th of July, 2003

For the sake of the game and the PTWDG community,

We hereby attest that we object to any forms of bickering, bitterness, whining and other forms of unsportive behavior in the public forum of the PTWDG community.

We hereby attest that we encourage any and all forms of friendly trash-talking and good humor.

    Signed, (by alphabetical order)
Darekill, Master Zen, Shiber, Theseus, Tiberus, Trip.

I'm open to suggestions to change the exact wording of this petition; we'd need to re-sign anyone who has signed prior to the change, but since this is an active community this won't pose much trouble.
I'm not sure whether this will have any effect or not, but I hope that this thread will serve as a reminder to us all of what we came here for.

    So, who wants to sign?

Well, we do sound like a community of whiny little *****es, it's true.

But I doubt your petition will change anything, Shiber.

Of course, I support it in principle. Then somebody makes a post that irritates me, and the next thing you know, I jump into the fray.

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

Signing the petition doesn't mean that you can't let your emotions take over you at times. After all, we are all human.
I haven't started this to fight what is an integral part of human nature; I'm no Don Kihote (sp?). But if one miserable mudfest is prevented thanks to this, then I've done my part.
        Now who wants to join?

Of course. I'd be honored if the all-seeing eye signs.

Yes, of course... I could say that for myself as well... the purpose of this petition as I understand it is... ah! ...that by signing it, you a priori agree that should you allow yourself to "jump into the fray", others are perfectly free and right to start bickering/whining about your bickering/whining.

And... if it is not 100% obvious... - yes, I support the petition.

                      I support the petition.

I just hope that unlike bickering and whining, liqueuring and wining doesn't count as unsportive behaviour

                          Sure, go ahead.
Damn, I envy Arrian. He will be first on the list My only satisfaction is that Vondrack will be last

                              Ghengis:

I think it's more of a goodwill agreement. Kind of like how the UN works.
