I can load the game, and load the staging window, but not together...no help from the manual, either...I'll keep plugging away, but this is rough going.

In order to load a multiplayer game, you first have to click on "multiplayer" (main menu). Once in the lobby, you can load the game - I believe it's in the drop-down menu under "game type."
