  • PTW and savegame compatibility

I was wondering if vanilla civ3 saves work under PTW, i.e. can I continue an existing game and still get all the improvements of PTW?
I'm asking this because I have a good game going in vanilla civ3, and I'm planning on finishing that before I go buy PTW, but if the saves are compatible I could just go and buy it immediately.

Velho, after you install PTW you will still be able to play civ3 games. PTW is installed in a folder of its own within the civ3 installation and retains its own saves folder. You get two different sortcuts targeting to different .exe files, with the one loading the PTW expantion and the other the familiar civ3 you currently own, so depending the .exe you are going to run you will be able to run your old civ3 saves or not or even start a new civ3 game.

You won't be able to load civ3 saves from within PTW however and vice versa I think but that won't be a problem for you I guess

Keygen is correct. [by the way, Hey Keygen! Long time! ]

Buying and installing PTW will not effect the play of your Civ3 games - but You cannot convert a saved Civ3 game to a PTW game. So if you want to play a PTW game (with its additional bells and whistles) then you will have to start and new PTW game (you cannot load a Civ3 game as a PTW game)...unless I'm totally off here, then someone will step forward to correct me.
