    Bug part II

    I am wondering if this is a PTW bug:

    I am playing a game, and make contact with another civ, we trade territory maps and immediately after I receive messages from practically every other civ even though I have never been in contact with any of their units.

    Is this normal? It didn't happen in Civ3.
    A true ally stabs you in the front.

      Sure it did (happen in Civ3). I'll bet that you made contact during THEIR turn! They then traded your contact with those other civs (and got techs/gold for them). The idea is to TRY to contact them during YOUR turn. Doesn't always work out, of course.

          Happens all the time since PTW. The AI puts proper priority on trading contact.

            Happens to me a lot. I love it, usually nets me quite a few techs.

              Off topic, Romanus that quote at the bottom of ure "box" is a bit harsh isnt it?

                Curiosity--

                On huge maps I like as little contact w/ other civs as possible (beyond immediate neighbors)early on, as they bug me over and over for territory maps (which I don't give). I ignore their attempts to contact me. I explore a lot (best part of huge map games), so I know I'll meet them later.

                Are the techs you get really worth that initial contact? Curious about that.

                  Not a bug, definitely. It means civ you contacted sold access to you to those other civs.
