  • Wandering Princesses

I have actually been quite disappointed with Capture the flag in SP and MP. It seems when the capital city is built right on the princess, the flag is just so hard to capture...sometimes it's easier just to kill the other civ.

I thought of an idea last night that could really improve the fun of this. What if the princess actually moved, but her movement was not controlled by you? (Picture one of those rebellious princesses who just won't listen to her father if you must)

The princess could just randomly move throughout any square within your national borders. Or she could move between cities at random.

Anyway just a fun thought I had last night. Let's see what everyone thinks.

I think it would make for an interesting game. You'd have to make sure that defenders were always following the Princess around. I like this idea. :b

      I like this idea...

However, maybe it would be better if you could attach an entourage to the princess, else with the lag delay in simultaneous and turnless, you could snipe the princess before the defenders can catch up

I didnt include turn based, cause obviously, you cant snipe the princess if it is not your turn!

That sounds interesting....the princess is going over to Sparta to see her....friend

Either that, or make it so you can't build your city on the same square as the princess.

she should wander with basic movement point and be able to "tag along" with other units, allowing for her 1 move point + their move point(s). She should also be able to "city teleport" if the city is conected by airport/harbor.

That'd be a pain in the butt. One second your princess is in Berlin the next second you go to look for her but she's gone off to Frankfurt on the other continent. And of course, you don't have anyone to escort her over there. But it'd make it a good challenge.

I like they idea of the princess moving randomly around! Or, to make it more challenging, let the fairy maiden start some squares away from where you start!

Here's a thought on how to fix the princess = city square.

When you initiate the game, make it understandable amoungst all players that they must move their setler at least one square. You can identify if all the players had done so by their score.

Of course it would be fun.
There are too less women in CivIII.
                              The more females the better.
But I've to say I support the idea that you're allowed to attach a unit next to here so she won't get out of hand (eg even leave the whole continent and wander right into the hands of your enemies)
