  • Elvis???? Huh??

How do you get rid of Elvis? I started two games today with the regicide VC enabled, and Elvis was my leader.

Sorry, but that's just waaaaaayyy too silly for me. Is there any way to get rid of him?

Does it have anything to do with today's being his birthday? Well, hey, today is David Bowie's birthday too, but as much as I like him I wouldn't want him in my Civ game....

Today's his birthday, dude. Firaxis put an easter egg in the game to make your king units Elvises on his birthday.
I never play regicide anyway, so didn't notice.

          I got Elvis too

I got Elvis too. He even asked for fried banana sandwiches. I played my PBEM game today too but I didn't notice if he was there again. I'll let you know if he is there next time. BTW, I'm the French in that game. I have to admit, Elvis is cooler than Joan d' Arc.

I was amused. Didn't notice it for awhile since I hardly move them except for some early scouting in the game.

Well, yeah, he's The King, but I don't want him as king of my Persian civilization.

Iraq and Persia (Iran) are not the same...

I wish Firaxis had spent the programming time they wasted on Elvis to instead add something useful, like the ability to change a female leader to a male, instead of just the name.

Try playing Russia. You can change the leader's name rom Catherine to Ivan, but the face of the character is still a woman and the leader unit on the map bustles around in a billowing skirt. So, I don't play Russia or any other Civ with a female leader.

Maybe female Civ players would also like the ability to change a male Civ leader to female.

hmm...ever used the editor? It's not that difficult to replace Catherine by Joan...if you want a mor masculine leader.

I'd much prefer being able to have an actual male character, and it should be possible without resorting to the editor. It should be another choice you make at the beginning of the game, like whether or not barbarians are roving or sedentary. But it seems that in this case Firaxis decided to include something silly instead of something that would actually add aesthetically to the game.

                          Oh well.

Why do you want the civ leader to be a man persé???
